Donations are Raging!Hello, donations for a new free font are raging, just wanted you to know that i am really considering this as a new trend. And will be getting on this issue right away. I want to hear your creative ideas on what would you like to see as a new font. Its in your hands, just tell me.
helloHello guys and girls, i know i haven't posted in a long time, but I'm here, recently got a big branding case for a Shoe and Apparel designer, im rushing to get INDE together. Along with a fellow developer we are now building some interesting publishing cms, that will go for free to anyone that desires something flexible and opensource. Anyway, just so to keep the fun flowing i made a promise in the advent font section, i have opened a donations link and will design a new font if the donations hit 300$ (i know the number is small but its for fun's sake anyway) .
Cant wait to hear your news

me & designHello, i know you haven't heard from me a long time now. So i salute all my friends who are kind enough to put aside my late reply.
I have some basic goals at the moment, i am moving to another country Sweden that is. It will be the beginning of my journey.
I am also planning to make advent available in Cyrillic, will still be free. Additionally i will release under a number of other fonts starting from next month.
My life as a Graphic Designer has gone through some interesting filtering of what am i doing in the industry and whether i or anyone should follow the industry laws and requests.
I have decided to further investigate the branding issue possibly starting by getting a degree regarding the issue and pursue font design, with a degree aswell.
Dividing those factors in my mind i have made some interesting projects with a subtle amount of work, nothing fancy, but well performed.
From now on i will be choosing a small number of clients to work with. This will help me concentrate mo

Mr. Holmes or On the Struggles of Human Mortality
“Mr. Holmes,” or, On the Struggles of Human Mortality
Outstanding in the Field
The upcoming film Mr. Holmes, based on the novel “A Slight Trick of the Mind” by Mitch Cullin, is about a 93 year old Sherlock Holmes who is in the process of writing his story and piecing together events from a 30 year old case that he feels is unfinished. In the midst of these endeavors Holmes is also trying to solve the mysteries of human

Shine a Light
Light means so many things in our lives beyond mere illumination.
Cinematographers call the hour just before the sun sets “the magic hour.” Movie producers and directors schedule the shooting of love scenes and other important moments in their script to take advantage of the powerful effect that “magic hour” sunlight subliminally exerts on our psyches. The Dutch master painters of the 17th century were expert in focusing the eye on the “story
Collection: Celestial Illusions
Back when it was common knowledge that the sun and all the planets revolved around our Earth, the phenomena of solar and lunar eclipses were mysterious and terrifying occurrences. Were the gods unhappy with us? Were these heavenly messages indicating the End of Days had arrived? Emperors and kings often felt a familial connection with the Sun, and so feared its temporary withdrawal from the sky to be a warning of its unhappiness with royal actions. Desp

Taking your art to the next level in 2015!
Duel of the fates
By :icontechgnotic: techgnotic
Famously said by many, “Ninety percent of success is showing up.” How true it is about a soul killing combination: looking at what our own first efforts in any endeavor, particularly art, result in, and then looking at the works of far more experienced artists. Giving up always seems the logical, if panicked,
Deviousness - May 2015
In Recognition of Exemplary Membership and an Outstanding Spirit of helpfulness and mentoring within the DeviantArt community.
My name is Jeffrey Cruz and I'm a Melbourne-based Comic book Artist that goes under the pen-name of 'Chamba'. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, back when I would copy images of Transformers from the back of the toy packaging. That year, my Love for creating art was born.
During my first year of University back in 2003, I was introduced to DeviantArt as part of class task to join an 'online community', something that was very foreign to me. Being part of DeviantArt had allowed me to open up my eyes to the variety of styles that existed beyond my own backyard and of the people who created such works. Throughout the years I've not only made life-long fr
Anatomy Lessons: How to improve faster in 6 steps!
'Life Drawing 5' by algaegoblin
Do you know how to sketch human figures but do you want to refine your anatomy skills? Or do you not know anatomy at all and you are tired to trust your imagination? Did you notice you create disproportions in your drawings?
If you are aspiring artists and you already have your own style, you might as well believe you have no need of a guide, but you are wrong. Before exaggerating human proportions and begin to have your own style, you first have to know the basics.
This little guide is the result of an accurate research and 5 years of high school of art, and it's created for all those who want to learn something new or just make a useful review.
For those who have already studied art, my suggestion is to go to step 6 or trying to repeat all steps in Digital format.
First of all, if you want to learn faster you should draw using traditi
Tips for smooth clean line artHi,
Is your line art shaky, wobbly, sloppy, fat, uneven or pixelated? The subject of clean line art comes up a lot so I've gathered together a number of tips from various DA members that may help you improve your line art. Some of the techniques described below may contradict other techniques described below so you may want to experiment and decide what works best for you. Most of these assume that you have a digital tablet. (Make sure your tablet drivers have been installed correctly. If your cursor is behaving erratically it may indicate a problem with your tablet or drivers.) Some posts have been edited for brevity or spelling:
"I developed my own technique. And it works quite well for me. It raised my Lineart cleanliness from 24% to 98%, yeah, really. Here is how I do it digitally when I'm not using a traditional sketch:
First a rough sketch, and I isolate it in its own layer then set its opacity to 50 or something near that value.
Then on the second layer
PE: Decorating Your ProfileCommunity Week
Your profile page is the first thing people will see when they click on your name, so it's very important to leave a good impression! This article will provide some useful tips and tricks for both premium and non-premium members who want to convert their profile into their own, unique page. First off, some Do's and Don'ts of profile decoration:
Use dA's profile widgets-- there are lots of great options to chose from
Show off some art (that's what people are here for!)
Express your personality through colors, stamps, gifs, etc.
Add so many images that your profile takes forever to load
Use garish or headache-inducing colors
Make text difficult to read with dark backgrounds
While many widgets are restricted or locked for non-premium members, there are still a variety of great widgets that you can add to your profile, even without a membership.
